Join the growing A "Women's Right to Know", would insure that pregnant women see an ultrasound, be given medically accurate information on fetal development, provided with the physical, psychological, and emotional consequences of abortion, and a list of supportive community resources before obtaining an abortion. Even "pro-choice" legislators should support the need for women to be given information so that she can then make a truly INFORMED decision about something so very important. What can you do? The women and children of our state need services, not abortions! Abortions hurt the women who have them and deprive us of the children who are our legacy. This year, our state budget is in crisis. Services such as education are undergoing deep cuts. In the meantime, the most recent figures for Medi-Cal money spent on abortions show that California paid over $32 Million in 2005. That money could have been spent to provide salaries for nearly 900 entry level school teachers. Now is the time to address this issue, as the largest provider of abortions in the state, Planned Parenthood, is alleged to have defrauded the state of over $180 Million, in a March 2008 expose' in the LA Times. Planned Parenthood was recorded welcoming blatently racist donations, specifically stated to target the killing of black babies. National African American leaders are coming together to speak out against the attacks on Black America by Planned Parenthood. We cannot stand idle while our representatives cut vital health and human services pushing more women to the desperation and despair of abortion. The women and children of California deserve better. Legislators, Pastors, Priests, Community Activists and Women Wounded by Abortion spoke to a crowd gather to support the request that we Eliminate Abortion Funding from the California State Budget.
